Q: Does it cost money to be a VG?

A: No.  Members of the group don't have to pay a cent.  Although we travel extensively and internationally, we believe that financial barriers should not be a concern for members or auditionees.

Q: Do I need to know how to tie a bowtie?

A: No.  Tristan still doesn't know how, and he's our Business Manager this year.

Q:  Do I need prior choral or singing experience?

A: No.  Some current VGs had literally only sung in the shower before showing up to Pavilion IV for their auditions.

Q: Who can audition?

A: Anyone!  We don't restrict membership on the basis of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, politics, or disability.  We are seriously excited to meet each and every auditionee that comes out.

Q: Can I audition multiple times?

A: Of course.  Many VGs auditioned several times before getting in. "Look at me now," says Jack.

Q: Can I audition for multiple groups at UVA?

A: Yes.  When auditions are over, if you have been accepted to multiple groups, you will have a period of time in which to pick your favorite.

Q: Where can I listen to VG music before auditioning?

A: You can find the groups' latest albums or live recordings of concerts on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify.

Q: Are there any other questions I should be asking?

A: Good question.
