Q: Does it cost money to be a VG?

A: No. The VGs travel both locally and internationally, and we believe that financial barriers should not be a concern for members. The group covers all necessary expenses.

Q: What is pavilion iv?

A: Pavilion IV, or PAV IV, is one of the eight larger residences located on the lawn. Facing the Rotunda, PAV IV is the second two-story building on the right.

Q: Do I need to know how to tie a bowtie?

A: No. Mitchell still doesn't know, and he’s Publicity chair.

Q:  Do I need prior singing experience?

A: Definitely not. Some current VGs had literally only sung in the shower before showing up to Pavilion IV for their auditions.

Q: Who can audition?

A: Anyone! We are seriously excited to meet each and every auditionee that comes out. We don't grant or restrict membership on the basis of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, politics, or disability.

Q: Can I audition multiple times?

A: Of course.  Many VGs auditioned several times before getting in. "Look at me now," says Clare.

Q: Can I audition for multiple groups at UVA?

A: Yes, but if you are accepted into multiple groups, you will have to select a single group.

Q: Where can I listen to VG music before auditioning?

A: You can find the groups' latest albums or live recordings of concerts on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify.

Q: Are there any other questions I should be asking?

A: Good question.
